The Football Transfer Tavern is full of Liverpool supporters this evening after their match against Aston Villa.
These Reds supporters have caught the attention of Charles Perrin from The Express who upon finishing his shift at the paper has popped into the bar.
Perrin reports that Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is a keeping tabs on Lazio midfielder Antonio Candreva with view to a possible bid during the January transfer window.
The 26-year-old Italian international, who has been also been interesting Manchester United, could be a complicated target given he is co-owned by both Lazio and Udinese.
Perrin explains to the group of interested punters that the Reds would have to agree a deal with each club to eventually land the versatile midfielder, who could star down the middle or on either wing.
Candreva, who has scored four goals in 26 games for Lazio this term, is expected to be one of the stars of the upcoming World Cup in Brazil and that could see his current £7 million valuation increasing ahead of next season.
Basel winger Mohamed Salah is also thought to be be on the agenda for Rodgers in this transfer window but talk about the Egyptian arriving at Anfield appears to have dried up over the last week in the tavern.
