BBC Sport have Liverpool fans rolling their eyes here in the Football Transfer Tavern as they seem to think that Liverpool have turned down a bid from Manchester City for Raheem Sterling.
Now as one of our punters notes, we think that Sterling will end up at the Etihad, and the Liverpool board probably know that, but with an opening bid of £25 million plus add ons, a deal was never going to be agreed, with the Reds determined to get the most out of a player they think could be one of the best in the world later in his career.
City meanwhile are desperate to add to their English quota and the fact that Sterling is a top class young player only helps that and with their so called ‘blank cheque’ this summer in the hands of Manuel Pellegrini, the bidding for Sterling looks set to only increase.
