Liverpool fans are looking alarmed here in the Football Transfer Tavern after our landlord informs them of the Daily Mirror’s latest claim.
The publication are under the impression that Brendan Rodgers has targeted a former Manchester United turned City turned Juventus forward as a replacement for Luis Suarez.
As one of our punters claim over a pint, Suarez may well be remaining at Liverpool this summer, thus rendering a move for Carlos Tevez pointless but the Reds are still keeping tabs on his situation.
Tevez has been outlined as a replacement should Suarez leave for the likes of Real Madrid, who have been sniffing around after the forward netted 30 times in 30 games this season to fire his side to the top of the Premier League title.
Quite what the Anfield faithful would make of Tevez joining the club given his previous history with both halves of Manchester remains to be seen – but how about a ‘welcome to Liverpool’ banner?
Do you think Tevez would be an adequate replacement for Suarez should the Uruguayan flee for pastures new this summer? Let us know your thoughts below.
