Liverpool want permanent deal for Divock Origi

Liverpool appear to be happy to keep one of their players this summer that had been destined for a move away from Anfield.

According to a report by Goal, the Reds have decided to pull the plug on a possible loan switch for Divock Origi this month to Borussia Dortmund.

The Premier League outfit want a permanent deal for the 23-year-old, however, the Bundesliga side are unwilling to meet the club’s valuation for the player.

It is also claimed that Jurgen Klopp would be happy to keep the Belgian at Anfield, should a transfer fail to materialise, after he was impressed by Origi’s performance in an inter-team friendly earlier in the week.

The forward did have the chance to leave Liverpool earlier this summer, with a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers on the cards, however, the £9million-rated attacker, via Transfermarkt, rejected the chance to team up with one of the Premier League’s newest sides.

The Verdict:

A move to the Bundesliga now appears to be dead in the water for Origi as Dortmund refuse to pay the asking price Liverpool have set.

However, he could be handed a chance to restart his career at Anfield after impressing Klopp, should he not be sold this summer.

Although, it would be extremely unlikely that he will have a chance to make a huge impact, with the likes of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and even Daniel Sturridge appearing to be in front of him in the pecking order.
