Liverpool’s Steven Gerrard may have taken most of our time up here in the Football Transfer Tavern of late, but after the latest claim from the Daily Mail this is about to change.
The publication have claimed that Luis Suarez will be staying at Liverpool next season, no matter what offers come in for the Uruguayan forward.
Suarez has been subject of huge offers in the past and will most likely be again this summer.
That of course means that Liverpool must be braced for that, and if chief executive Ian Ayre is to be believed, that is exactly what the Reds are preparing for.
He claimed: ‘The important thing is we remain committed together. We have supported Luis through thick and thin and he has done the same by signing up to a new long-term contract recently.
“We would expect that to continue, but we’d also expect people to come in and rattle our cage every transfer window.”
Liverpool are of course certainties to get into the Champions League next season, and that is of course a huge reason for Suarez to stay.
As our punters note, Brendan Rodgers’ men are sitting top of the table and could well be title winners come the end of the season.
Will Suarez go on to become the greatest Liverpool forward of all-time at Anfield? Let us know your thoughts below.
