Mario Balotelli has been handed another massive blow if Metro are to be believed and punters in the Football Transfer Tavern seem to think that options are running out for the AC Milan forward.
Balotelli is seeking a move away from the Serie A giants and would like to return to England, yet it seems that the majority of clubs feel he is more trouble than he is worth, with both Arsenal and now Liverpool distancing themselves from the maverick striker.
Brendan Rodgers was the latest manager to be linked with a swoop for the Italian international after lavishing praise on him, but it seems that was just paper talk and nothing more.
The Liverpool boss refuted the rumours and claimed: “I was asked the question about Balotelli and spoke about what a talent he is and excellent player he is.
“I can categorically tell you that he will not be at Liverpool.
“He is a wonderful player, but an AC Milan player. I just gave my opinion of him, but that doesn’t mean I will be signing him.”
The majority of our punters still expect Rodgers to bring in another couple of players before the transfer window closes and another forward simply must be on the list of targets after a deal for QPR’s Loic Remy fell through.
Liverpool fans. What do you think of this denial by Rodgers? Is he just trying to drive the price of Balotelli down or is he really not interested? Let us know your thoughts below.
