Liverpool would be foolish not to attempt to land £1.8m-rated living legend

Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are beginning to start their journeys to Kiev as the Reds face Real Madrid in the final of the Champions League in just over a week.

Jurgen Klopp’s side knocked out Porto, Manchester City and Roma on route to the final and will be hoping to add collect their sixth European cup against Los Blancos. Despite transfer plans put on hold until the conclusion of the game, rumours have already started to swirl as to who Klopp will seek to recruit in the summer. The German has highlighted that strengthening his squad depth is a priority.

The latest name to be linked with a switch to Anfield is legendary goalkeeper – Gianluigi Buffon – who will leave Juventus at the end of the season following 17 years with the club. The 40-year-old has hinted that retirement will not be an option and expects to feature elsewhere next season. The World Cup winner will likely have offers from China and the MLS, but Liverpool should offer him the chance to come to England.

Widely regarded as one of the best goalkeepers of all-time, Buffon’s experience would be invaluable to Liverpool’s current keepers and youngsters. A World Cup winner with Italy, few men in the world, have as much knowledge as the Italian. Valued at £1.8m by Transfermarkt, the former Parma man would also be an excellent backup keeper and increase shirt sales.

For Liverpool, this one is a no-brainer.
