Metro have Liverpool fans looking up keenly from their pints today in the Football Transfer Tavern as the club are linked with Internacional striker Leandro Damiao.
Punters will know the player well from his constant links to Tottenham and Andre Villas-Boas, who as we all know is a long-term fan of the player.
Now it seems that Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is also considering making a move for the player.
Despite the links to the exciting Internacional player, president Gionvanni Luigi noted that: “There is nothing,
“Liverpool never made any offer, and I have never received a phone call from them. I don’t even know if they could afford to sign Leandro Damiao.
“The Zenit [St Petersburg] story was strong some time ago, but later they never talked about Leandro Damiao. Tottenham talked with me on January 30 and 31, then never again.”
Clearly that seems to rule Tottenham out of the bidding, yet Liverpool are still reportedly keen on the player.
Quite if they can get him in before the window closes however remains to be seen. The Reds are also thought to be keen on a deal to bring Chelsea’s Victor Moses to Anfield this summer on a season long loan.
Will Damiao move to the Premier League before the deadline or will he agaiv prove an elusive target? Let us know your thoughts below.
