Liverpool fans will be confident of a first Premier League title more than ever, given their emphatic start to the season and their midweek European success over Napoli.

The Reds' manager Jurgen Klopp has been meticulous over the last few years in his signings and team development, and the German might finally get his rewards this season with a first trophy in the cabinet since arriving from Borussia Dortmund some three years back.

Despite having such a strong squad though, we here at the Transfer Tavern think that the club are still missing some genuine world class talent in the middle of the park, with the Reds still really lacking a player in the middle who can grab a game by the scruff of the neck and drive them to glory much like Steven Gerrard used to.

Those players are out there though, and with the January window just around the corner, there is every chance Liverpool might well choose to add to the ranks to further their chances of success in the second half of the campaign.

With that in mind, we've taken a look at TWO central midfielders who Liverpool should be keeping an eye on...

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic

The Lazio star has developed into one of the top midfield talents in world football during the last few seasons, and there is every chance he could fancy a move to the Premier League in the not too distant future.

The Serbian impressed in this year's World Cup, and still in his early 20's, there is even more to come it would seem.

Milinkovic-Savic is world class, there is no doubt about it, and he would seriously strengthen the ranks at Anfield if he did get a move to the club.

Adrien Rabiot

The Paris St-Germain midfielder has clubs in Europe on red alert thanks to his current contract situation over in France, and Liverpool might just fancy making a move in January to secure the young star.

Rabiot is a class act, and Paris will be absolutely devastated to lose him in the summer for nothing, meaning they might well take some sort of fee come the January window.

A solid player with excellent all round ability in the middle of the park, Rabiot would be a superb coup for Liverpool.
