The Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern are busy getting on the tequilas this evening, as they drown their sorrows after being defeated by Sevilla in the Europa League final.
The Reds faithful know that if their side had won the competition on Wednesday evening they would have been playing in the Champions League next season, which would have made signing players in the summer a lot easier.
The ardent supporters know that it hasn’t been a season to remember domestically although they also reached the Capital One Cup Final earlier in the campaign.
If Liverpool are to secure a place in the top four of the Premier League next season they are likely to have to spend big during the summer and could even smash their record transfer fee of £35 million, which the club paid for striker Andy Carroll.
