AC Milan keen on surprise move for Klopp’s €30m Liverpool outcast

As divisive as he is for England at international level, Daniel Sturridge is twice as debate provoking amongst the Liverpool fans propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern.

Once hailed as part of the most lethal frontline the Reds had in many, many years, the 27-year-old cannot get a look in under Jurgen Klopp at Anfield right now.

Constant injury problems have blighted his progress in recent seasons and the nature of Klopp’s rebuild on Merseyside has seemingly left the ex-Chelsea and Manchester City forward alone in the dark.

For a man who should be entering his prime, the striker isn’t the most popular amongst the Kop faithful in the Tavern, despite his wonderfully clinical scoring record in red.

So, reports coming from Italy have been met with little more than shrugged shoulders by some of our punters.

According to CalcioMercatoWebAC Milan are big fans of the forward and could reportedly make a €30m move when January rolls around.

That figure roughly equates to around £26m, representing a pretty good deal for a man with his ailment record.

Rossoneri coach Vincenzo Montella is believed to be a big fan of his technical qualities and is said to see him as an ideal replacement for Carlos Bacca, should the Colombian depart.

International teammate Joe Hart recently made a move to Serie A, joining Torino on loan, when he was met with a crossroads in his Manchester City career.

Would Sturridge suit the Italian game? Let us know below…
