The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to the news that their Egyptian star, Mo Salah has been named in the PFA’s Premier League team of the year as he continues his superb season. The forward has bagged 30 league goals this campaign and doesn’t look like letting up in Liverpool’s final four games. You can read more about his achievement on the Liverpool website.

Mo Salah returned to the Premier League with a point to prove when he joined Liverpool from Roma in the summer. The winger had previously spent time at Chelsea after being signed from Basel in January 2014, although he couldn’t crack the first team and was loaned out to both Fiorentina and Roma before leaving permanently for Roma in summer 2016. One year later and he’d made his return to the Premier League, reformed from an out-and-out winger to an inside forward with an eye for goal.
Now though, Salah’s came has kicked on even further and it would be harsh not to call him a complete goalscorer. The Premier League’s most dangerous player has showcased his ability to score from all sorts of angles and distances with both feet and his head. On Saturday, Salah showed what he was all about when he lobbed Asmir Begovic with a cushioned header at Anfield to bring up the 30 goal mark for the league. The Kopites will be hoping they can hold onto their man for years to come as he continues to mature in a Liverpool shirt.

Mo Salah deserves to be player of the season. He's clearly been the best player in the Premiership. But Bobby Firmino should be second. He's better and far more consistent than Kevin de Bruyne. Robertson should be third. He's proven to be sensational for Liverpool.
