The Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern are buzzing with their team this season and hopes for next season are rising.

Jurgen Klopp has Liverpool ticking very nicely and turned them into one of the most dangerous teams to face across Europe, as the previously unbeaten Manchester City found out of course. Although they are still prone to some major mishaps and lapse in concentration, on the whole, the Reds have impressed this year.

Our regular Reds will be hoping with a few key signings in important areas, Klopp can finally transform this team with bags of potential into trophy winners, something that has been missing under the German's tenure at the club.

With much of the focus in the defence this year, it's easy to forget some of the players that have impressed majorly this year. With the Reds starting to climb up the table and, are hot on the heels of their rivals Man United in second. Our landlord takes a look at TWO players that have really impressed so far this season...

Andy Robertson

The Scottish full-back came to Liverpool from Hull City under no real excitement from the fans here in the pub. However, Robertson has turned into one of the star performers in the team and, one that shows the courage and bravery needed to win games.

This was encapsulated with his display against Man City in the Premier League at the start of the year, his high energy and reliability have endeared him the Anfield faithful quickly.

Mo Salah

The standout candidate for Player of the Year. Mo Salah came to Liverpool with a point to prove after being let go by Chelsa some years earlier and has certainly silenced any doubts he may have had. This season, he has gone beyond anyone's expectations and surpassed previous goalscoring records and, if he carries on, it could be one hell of a debut season for the Egyptian.

Salah has been the focal point of the whole Liverpool team. Without him, this season our fans in the bar wonder where exactly the Reds would be in the league.
