Liverpool have made the perfect start to their Premier League campaign, looking a real threat to City’s title that they finished 25 points away from last season.
That gulf in class between the two sides has most definitely been rectified this summer as Liverpool were the leagues biggest spenders and for the right reasons as well. They brought in a goalkeeper Alisson and top midfielders in the form of Naby Keita and Fabinho, as well as attacking cover in Xherdan Shaqiri.
The Reds ensured that their woes from last season were improved upon and those four signings have certainly done that for them.
After losing Philippe Coutinho back in January though, they still haven’t recruited an out-and-out attacking midfielder, someone who can pick up the ball from deep, taking the ball and strolling forward past opposition defenders.
That player for Liverpool could be Schalke’s Amine Harit, a player valued at £22.5 million on Transfermarkt.
Having joined the German club last summer, Harit was influential in guiding Schalke to a 2nd place finish behind Bayern Munich at the summit of the Bundesliga. The 21-year-old provided seven assists and 3 goals in 31 league appearances last season and although those figures don’t quite match the standard of Coutinho, Amine Harit is showing immense potential of getting to that stage, being a player who would be huge for Liverpool.
Supporting a front three of Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino and Saido Mane you would think allows Harit to grab more goals and assists for the team, taking his influence on the game to the next level. His trickery and dribbling ability is outstanding and he could be the difference for Liverpool should they reinvest in January.
