No matter what they tell you about Andy Carroll, he certainly moves to a different beat than other footballers. The Liverpool front-man has been recovering from a thigh injury which has kept him out of action since last December.
Despite reports that the player could well be out for the rest of the season, Kenny Dalglish has suggested otherwise and claims that Liverpool fans will see the big striker in action in a matter of weeks.
To celebrate this good news, and to prove that Carroll is getting better, Dalglish treated the player to a night out at Liverpool’s Echo Arena to see hit 90’s pop-group Boyzone begin their latest UK tour. Yes, you read that right, Boyzone. Isn’t it a wonder? It’s believed that Dalglish wanted to show how ‘down with the kids’ he is, but got it spectacularly wrong as the ‘kids’ at the concert were in their late 30s.
Perhaps Carroll has a hidden love for sugary-sweet pop ballads? Maybe he listens to When The Going Gets Tough to psyche himself up for big matches. Or maybe he wanted to ask Ronan for hair-styling tips? Whatever the reason, they both looked to be having a great time and the evening was such a success that Dalglish is planning to take all his new signings to shows.
