‘Back-up to Mane’ – Liverpool fans react on Twitter after report hints at Klopp plans

Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are refusing to get ahead of themselves after reading a story in The Telegraph that claims 17-year-old, Rhian Brewster is set to be promoted to the first team on his return from injury. Brewster has a huge future ahead of him, having top scored and won the U17 World Cup with England last year.

Despite Brewster’s obvious talent, the Kopites propping our bar up are refusing to get too excited over the youngster’s imminent promotion to Jurgen Klopp’s first team. At 17-years-old, the pacey and prolific striker is still raw, prompting Liverpool fans to believe he could do with some time out on loan to help his development with regular first-team football before he becomes apart of the first team squad at Anfield.

Brewster has spent this season honing his skills with Liverpool’s U23s, despite being six years younger than some of his teammates and opposition. However, the age difference hasn’t fazed him this year as he’s bagged himself six goals and seven assists in his 15 games with the Liverpool development squad. London-born Brewster is currently recovering from ankle ligament damage after needing two operations.
