Barcelona’s £8.1m-rated man would improve Liverpool’s defence even further this summer

The Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern are delighted to have seen their side cruise past Man City, as they’ve now reached the Champions League semi-finals. Reds aren’t carried away just yet though as they still realise that if they want domestic trophies, summer transfers are a must this upcoming window.

In what started as an ordinary Liverpool campaign, the Reds have completely revitalised themselves to now looking like one of the most dangerous sides in the world. Not only are Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino banging in the goals still but their defence,(yes that same backline who were shipping in goals) now look completely solid and a force to be reckoned with.

Liverpool’s hopes and dreams of European success could again this year become a reality and the Reds fans are loving every moment of it. Right now at Anfield, it’s hard to think about the future but if they want to continue this upwards trajectory, Liverpool need new players in the summer.

Our punters around the bar have identified Barcelona’s Yerry Mina as a defensive reinforcement that would make a great addition at Anfield. With the 23-year-old only valued at £8.10 million on Transfermarkt, cost won’t be the issue but the huge competition already surrounding Mina’s signature will be.

The defender is extremely composed on the ball and like all Barcelona players, loves to pass the ball around. We feel that Virgil Van Dijk and Mina would form the perfect partnership and that Liverpool could improve their defensive fragilities from years gone by and once again be a very tough team to break down.

Yerry Mina has struggled for game time in Barcelona and consequently a move away from the Spanish giants at his age would be the right thing to do.
