Liverpool have dominated the individual accolades in recent years.
In 2018, it was Mohamed Salah who picked up the PFA Player of the Year award after scoring a huge 32 goals in the Premier League – it is hard to argue with him picking up the award. Then, last term, it was Virgil van Dijk who took home the trophy after guiding the Reds to the best defensive record in the top flight.
However, it seems that this doesn’t rest well with Manchester City star Bernardo Silva. He has insinuated that the Citizens’ players have been unlucky not to win the award recently (Bleacher Report via The Mirror), mentioning teammates Kevin de Bruyne and Raheem Sterling as potential winners.
