It’s not really proved to be the summer window the Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern were hoping for.
Our resident Reds have been gutted to see Jurgen Klopp’s reported pursuits for Virgil van Dijk and Naby Keita fail to get off the ground as star man Philippe Coutinho continues to be linked with a move to Barcelona.
Indeed, recent reports were suggesting a deal with the Blaugrana had been agreed, a story that sent our local Kopites into borderline tears yesterday.
However, comments from Sky Sports’ Kaven Solhekol has moved to allay fears in that regard. He claims NO deal has been agreed between the two clubs, though the 25-year-old does reportedly WANT to move to the Camp Nou.
No deal agreed between Liverpool and Barcelona for Philippe Coutinho. Five years left on LFC contract. Wants to go if deal can be agreed

The Brazilian only penned a new five-year deal at Anfield earlier this year, so Liverpool are certainly in a strong position when it comes to keeping the playmaker.
Whether or not he’ll be a Reds player by the end of the window remains to be seen, though the fact no offer has yet been agreed seems to be promising, with Jurgen Klopp previously standing firm in his stance that the former Inter Milan youngster won’t be sold.
While keeping the Selecao samba star on Merseyside long-term may be an unrealistic notion, holding on to Coutinho for at least another season would be a huge boost for Liverpool.
