Liverpool made an excellent start to the Premier League season with a dominant 4-0 victory over West Ham.

The Reds stamped their credentials as early title contenders with a routine victory over the Hammers at Anfield. Mohamed Salah opened the scoring before Sadio Mane doubled their advantage on the stroke of half-time. Mane grabbed his second of the match after the interval with Daniel Sturridge wrapping up proceedings with his first-touch just seconds after leaving the bench.

Jurgen Klopp will be delighted to see his new signings look great on their first outing in the Premier League. With Alisson Becker untested in between the sticks, Naby Keita stole the show with a fantastic display in centre midfield. Liverpool still have Fabinho to welcome into the first team.

Despite the window slamming shut, the Reds should continue their excellent business by landing Nottingham Forest striker – Ben Brereton. Valued at £4.5m by Transfermarkt, the 19-year-old has emerged as one of the Championship’s top prospects after breaking into the Forest first-team. Reports suggest that Blackburn Rovers have made a £5m offer to sign the youngster on loan with an option to buy; Liverpool would be wise to beat them to it.

Brereton has contributed 15 goals or assists during his 53 Championship appearances and starred in Forest’s win over Arsenal in the FA Cup last season. He remains an extremely raw talent but has the potential to be a star for both club and country.

Working under Klopp could do wonders for his development and the youngster would be buoyed after watching the likes of Joe Gomez and Trent Alexander-Arnold quickly progress through the youth setup at Anfield to earn a place in the starting XI.

Brereton could be the next star Liverpool striker if Klopp brings him to Merseyside.
