Liverpool fans in the Tavern are startled by how well their team have played this season and their menacing attack has proved to be one of the strongest in world football.
The Reds this season have been prolific in front of goal and to improve their chances next season of grabbing some silverware, it is rumoured Liverpool are targeting Monaco’s Thomas Lemar, valued at £58.50 million on Transfermarkt.
The Frenchman was chased by a number of clubs last summer following a terrific season with Ligue 1 champions at the time Monaco. Lemar this season has seen a drop in goals (3 in all comps) but still continues to supply the golden chances for his team-mates with eight assists.
With Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and of course Mohammed Salah displaying unbelievable form this season, it’s hard to picture where Thomas Lemar would fit in. One thing is for sure though, Lemar would be great competition if the front three aren’t performing. He may also have the ability to fill the boots of Coutinho who departed for Barcelona this January as he has been used as an attacking midfielder before.
Liverpool have had a great season and with Lemar potentially coming to Anfield this summer, there isn’t a better team at the moment to challenge Man City for the title.
Our landlord and punters surrounding him at the bar agree that another world class addition to Liverpool’s team only makes them stronger and even if he isn’t guaranteed to start, he would prove to be an extremely good rotational player for the Reds.
