The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have been talking about their club’s on-loan striker, Divock Origi. The Belgian striker is currently at Wolfsburg on a temporary basis from Liverpool and doubt has been cast over his Liverpool future after an unimpressive spell in Germany. Origi, valued at £10.8 million by the good people over at Transfermarkt, has only managed to score five goals in 24 Bundesliga appearances this season.
The curious case of Divock Origi…
With Liverpool not signing a striker in the summer, should we keep hold of him?
Still feel like there is talent there that Klopp can make use of pic.twitter.com/nOg5VaU6Dh

Over his short Liverpool career, the 22-year-old has racked up 21 goals in 77 appearances for the Anfield club. Although a decent return for such a young forward it hasn’t stopped a number of Liverpool fans calling for him to exit the club in the summer. The versatile forward can be deployed on either wing despite primarily being a central striker but it’s hard to see him usurping Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino or Sadio Mane in the Liverpool front line upon his return.
If the Belgian does have a career at Liverpool on his return it will have to be as a squad player. Liverpool have become famed for having one of the most devastating attacking forces in world football at the moment as their deadly front three all possess pace, fluidity and an eye for goal. Whilst there is definitely room for Origi in the Liverpool ranks, the fans seem to think it would be a better option to cash in on the player now and give other young forwards a chance to crack the first team.
With that in mind, here’s our local Kopites’ verdict on Divock Origi:
He’s had his chance, nowhere near the standard needed and better of giving the likes of Wilson Woodburn and Brewster an opportunity!

I’d rather see Danny Ings getting a chance

Just another Danny Wellbeck! Simply not good enough and would move him on asap.

Nah, it's a wrap for him. Woodburn, Brewster and Wilson all better options for now and the future. He's a budget Welbeck and I think that says enough in itself.

Jesus no. Absolutely not. He's been dreadful across three leagues now. Why are people still expecting a superstar to emerge?

Can’t even start for 16th placed Wolfsburg. Sorry, but that tells you how his story is going to end Going to have to have a blinder of a pre-season to stay.

Nahh sell him

Not good enough, time to move him on, good luck to the lad, he’ll probably be fantastic in the championship, or maybe with a club where he’ll get 30 games s season to improve his game
