Club official hands Liverpool triple transfer blow

Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have expressed their concerns ahead of the summer window, as they feel their side could struggle to compete in the upcoming transfer market.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have been linked with a wealth of talent across Europe, particularly from Germany, but sealing deals for the Reds’ targets won’t be easy – and they’ve been handed a triple-blow by one club official.

Schalke’s sporting director Christian Heidl, a close friend of Klopp’s, suggested to German outlet RevierSport that reports from the English media concerning deals for Sead Kolasinac, Leon Goretzka and Max Meyer were false.

“I happen to know a good thing in Liverpool. Jürgen and I have such a good relationship that I have always known everything before. This time I do not know anything – and that is why the English media does not know anything.”

Schalke are enduring a disappointing campaign in the Bundesliga this season but will fight tooth and nail to keep their star player’s this summer, although Kolasinac is due to leave the club on a free transfer.

Our landlord believes Liverpool should be eyeing alternative targets anyway, as he feels this trio won’t significantly improve the squad.
