Hernandez is frustrated in Spain with his lack of first first team opportunities and has admitted that he may consider a move elsewhere if he is not given a decent run in the team.
The Spanish right-winger is worth around £15million, but he could leave the Mestalla for as little as £10million if coach Unai Emeri doesn’t rate him. Liverpool may face stiff competition though, as Harry Redknapp’s Spurs have also been linked to the player.
Hernandez has found himself to be second choice to Joaquin in Spain despite some impressive performances when he does appear. The 25-year-old has often been on the fringe of the Spain squad but did not make the cut for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
Liverpool would be favourite to land the Spaniard given their fantastic relationship with La Liga clubs. The Reds also have a plethora of Spanish-speaking stars such as Fernando Torres, Maxi Rodriguez and Emiliano Insua.
