It remains unclear where former Liverpool player Philippe Coutinho will end up.
As it stands, he is still on the books of Barcelona, but he has spent this campaign on loan with Bundesliga side Bayern Munich. The Bavarians, though, are said to not be interested in making his move permanent, which has led to plenty of speculation about a return to the Premier League.
Chelsea appear to be the current front-runners in the race to sign him, whilst Everton have also been linked with a move. However, according to Spanish outlet Sport (via Sport Witness), the 27-year-old is said to have called the Reds in an attempt to force through a return to Anfield, but his pleas were met with a strong no.
Would you take Coutinho back?
As you can imagine, this has caused quite the reaction amongst the club’s supporters – one fan even called it “truly sad”. They have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts, and you can see some of the best comments from the social media platform below.
