It’s never pleasant seeing your team lose a gifted emerging talent, especially after seeing him progress through the youth ranks.
Considering the fact Liverpool have such a proud history of developing their own players, it’s not hard to imagine the discontent amongst the Reds propping up the bar.
According to ESPN, they are set to lose Portuguese playmaker Joao Teixeira this summer after the 23-year old rejected their offer of a new deal.
It is claimed he is nearing a return to his homeland, with Porto believed to be his ultimate destination upon the expiration of his deal on Merseyside.
He made just seven appearances for the Reds since joining as a youngster in 2012, though enjoyed loan spells with the likes of Brighton and Brentford.
Would Liverpool be well advised to keep Teixeira at the club?
