There's more news for Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern today, so don't leave just yet.

Liverpool are a couple of signings away from having a squad that could take the Premier League title from Manchester City. With Klopp's brand of high-tempo football and some crucial signings in key areas, Liverpool might just have one of the best teams in football.

During a long Premier League campaign, depth in multiple positions is key. While Liverpool have added two players this summer, they should try to keep the majority of the squad together.

Apparently, Fenerbahce are interested in signing midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum according to Turkish news outlet, Fotomac. If Liverpool want to challenge next year, they simply must keep him.

The Breakdown

The Dutch midfielder joined the Reds in 2016 for a fee of £25 million. Since then he has gone on to feature heavily in Klopp's team but has never really stamped his mark on the team.

Wijnaldum (valued at £27m by Transfermarkt) made 33 appearances in the league last year but managed just one goal to go with two assists, the season before he managed six and nine respectively. Playing in a midfield three that is required to a lot of pressing, he's never managed to replicate the goalscoring form that got him the move from Newcastle. While he may not start many games next season, to have the Holland international as a viable option off the bench is going to be essential as Liverpool go through the season.

A £25 million might be tempting but it's a deal that the Reds should not take.

What do you reckon Liverpool fans?
