Their loss to Swansea City, one that could potentially damage their title hopes, the Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have been lamenting their lack of activity in the transfer market.
The Reds have seemed so close to the Premier League title at this time term, though appear – to our punters anyway – to have an element of frailty not so prevalent in the likes of Chelsea. With that in mind, our Merseyside locals are desperate for activity on the recruitment front.
Still, confirmation on their official site announcing midfielder Lazar Markovic had joined Premier League rivals Hull City on loan until the end of the season really isn’t what they had in mind. Having seen a loan stint with Sporting Lisbon cut short after failing to have much of an impact, the Tigers have officially taken the Serbian to Humberside.
Signed by Brendan Rodgers for around £20m in 2014, the 22-year-old has failed to convince the Reds in the Tavern at all since joining from Benfica. Still, they hope working under Marco Silva at the KCOM could at least put him in the shop window somewhat.
Will Markovic benefit from being loaned to Hull? Let us know below…
