Doubt cast on winger’s potential Liverpool move this month

There’s nothing quite like a nice rumour to calm the nerves of the Liverpool fans propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern ahead of their EFL Cup semi-final clash with Southampton tomorrow night.

Still, reports from the Daily Mail have come as somewhat of a blow to our Merseyside locals in the bar this evening.

In their transfer column, they’ve revealed the Reds are unlikely to make a move for Spartak Moscow winger Quincy Promes this month.

The 25-year-old is believed to have been watched by both the Kop titans and bitter rivals Everton, though there are not thought to be any immediate plans to sign him up right away.

He has been touted as a potential £25m target for Jurgen Klopp and is good friends with star midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum due to their involvement with the Dutch national side.

Still, attacking areas are well stocked at Anfield right now and Promes is not believed to be a target this month.

Are Liverpool making a mistake in not signing Promes? Let us know below…
