As exciting as the notion of a whole season under the stewardship of Jurgen Klopp is proving to be for the Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern, reports emanating out of France today have soured the mood.
According to French publication Le 10 Sport, Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain are lining up a stunning £45m raid on the Reds for brilliant Brazilian Philippe Coutinho this summer.
Having lost the stunning services of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Les Parisians are believed to be on the hunt of big name replacements in order to help replace the striker.
It is claimed that that decision makers in the French capital have made moves to try and lure the 23-year old to Paris by contacting the player’s entourage.
The former Inter Milan starlet has gone from strength-to-strength since moving to Merseyside in the winter of 2013, establishing himself as one of the best attacking midfielders in Europe.
While he is likely to be essential to Jurgen Klopp’s plans going forward, the prospect of moving to the mega wealthy French champions and competing in the Champions League could prove to be too hard to resist.
Will Liverpool finish in the Top Four next season?
