The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are delighted with their sides recent form after they secured a third win in 8 days on Saturday evening.
Jurgen Klopp’s side were in devastating counter-attacking form at the London Stadium on Saturday evening, as they dismantled a hapless West Ham to secure a 1-4 away victory. Liverpool’s cause was aided by the fact that their main top-four rivals were all set to play the following day and they made no mistake in taking the opportunity to close the gap on the leading pack. They now sit just 4 points off 2nd place Manchester United who they will dearly be hoping to surpass over the course of the season.
The January transfer window will present Liverpool with an excellent opportunity to enhance their aspirations for the season, and Klopp will be in the process of narrowing his targets in the coming weeks.
The Liverpool fans in the Tavern are intrigued by reports linking their side with a move for Man City’s David Silva this morning in what would undoubtedly be a shock move in the Premier League.
However, with Philippe Coutinho’s future still hanging tentatively in the balance at Anfield, it is no surprise to hear that Liverpool are already looking at potential replacements for the Brazillian.
Anybody who has witnessed Silva at the top of his game will know that his unique ability to drift into pockets of space and slice opponents apart with his precision of passing is something to behold.
Silva is well suited to Liverpool’s style of play under Klopp, and he could provide the creative spark behind the striker that would allow the likes of Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain providing pace down the wings to find their best form for the club.
Even at the age of 31, Silva has plenty of footballing years left in his locker, and if Liverpool were to land the Man City veteran, they would be acquiring a pure talent who has a rare ability to bring out the best qualities in the players around him.
