The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reflecting on the England game from Tuesday now the dust has settled and whilst many fans are looking ahead to Saturday, Liverpool fans are looking at Harry Maguire.
Tell you what, I'd have Harry Maguire next to Virgil.

Maguire had a great game on Tuesday evening against Colombia, doing a superb job alongside John Stones and Kyle Walker, keeping Radamel Falcao at an arm’s length for 120 minutes as the Three Lions eventually won on penalties after being held to a 1-1 draw by their South American opposition. After watching two hours of Harry Maguire though, the Reds really want to see him at Anfield.
The last 24 months have been a whirlwind for the Leicester City man. Back in summer 2016, the defender was watching the Euros from the stands with his friends, but a move to Hull City that summer followed by a move to Leicester last summer has seen him thrown into the spotlight. The 25-year-old has bloomed late but is now a fully-fledged England international and could be set to make his third move in as many years if the Kopites do come calling for the impressive England man.
With that being said, here’s our local Reds’ Maguire verdict:
All day long. Fantastic player

Whilst he might be a left-field option, Maguire would be a superb addition to Anfield and the fans are keen for it to happen.
