FIFA has had it's fair share of scandals. Corruption, at times, has seemed rife within the company and it's hard not to wonder whether or not it's been at play here as Mo Salah has beaten the likes of Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo to the Puskas award. The Puskas award is given to the scorer of the best goal from the previous season, and apparently, that was Mo Salah's goal against Everton.

Even Liverpool fans will laugh and tell you that the Egyptian's derby strike wasn't his own best of the season, let alone the best goal out of every single goal last season. In fact, his goal against Everton wasn't even the goal of the month. Instead, Jermain Defoe won the Premier League's goal of the month for December for his volleyed strike against Crystal Palace, so even the England striker can feel aggrieved with this one.

A lot of people would go as far as to say that Salah's goal was the worst of all those nominated, yet somehow he managed to beat both Bale and Ronaldo's overhead kicks, a scorpion kick to lob the 'keeper in the A-League, a 30-yard free-kick from Greece and some of the World Cup's best strikes. It seems that FIFA have outdone themselves here and even Liverpool fans can't deny that this seems like a bit of a farce.

You can see what the world of football makes of Salah's award:

The fans are confused and frustrated that such a prestigious award has been given out on such strange terms and they all seem to agree that Salah's strike was nowhere near Puskas award-winning quality.
