Forget Can: Liverpool must turn their attentions to promising £13.5m-rated Spanish midfielder

Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern have been overjoyed with their campaign thus far but with rumours intensifying about midfielder Emre Can leaving the club, the Reds seriously have to act quick to find an adequate replacement.

Can has been a solid player for Liverpool once again this season and has been no stranger to popping up with all important creativity in the final third. He has scored six goals and assisted five for his teammates so far and Liverpool would find it very tricky to replace the German.

A player who could well be on his way to replacing Emre Can, however, is Real Betis midfielder Fabian Ruiz, rated at £13.50 million on Transfermarkt. The young Spaniard has endured a breakthrough campaign with the La Liga side and scored 2 goals and assisted six during the course of the season.

The 21-year-old can be deployed in a number of positions including the left-hand side and as an attacking midfielder, although central-midfield is where you’re likely to see Ruiz feature.

Liverpool fans are ready to welcome Naby Keita to the setup this summer but the business can’t stop there if Liverpool are seriously hoping to close the gap on runaway leaders Manchester City. The Reds will not want to undo their hard work to improve the squad in the last few years but adding an up and coming Spaniard to the squad should only be viewed as a positive thing.

Our fans surrounding the bar are familiar with the Betis man and although he isn’t yet a recognisable name, Fabian Ruiz could prove to be a fan favourite at Anfield for years to come.
