Liverpool fans here inside the Transfer Tavern are loving the turnaround of fortunes in recent months, in the Premier League anyway….
Since the goalless draw against bitter rivals Man United, Liverpool have gone on to concede five goals and suffer only one defeat in domestic competition, though their performance against Sevilla in the Champions League was largely awful.
This upturn in form is largely down the Reds’ dangerous and formidable front line of the Fab Four says our landlord. Indeed, Mo Salah and Sadio Mane have had a hand in the majority of the Reds’ goals of late, with Salah netting on more occasions due to Mane’s suspensions and injuries.
The pair have recently and inevitably been compared to the great 2013/14 partnership of Luiz Suarez and Daniel Sturridge, the deadly duo who nearly stormed the Reds to their first Premier League title, by our local Kopites.
Although it’s very early days in the season, Salah has already scored more goals than any other has managed since the Suarez’s departure to Barcelona. Furthermore, with Jurgen Klopp’s style of play, you can only envisage more goals and our punters are praying for some success.
The lively discussion in the Tavern amongst our regulars is of which pair will be considered the most dangerous and ultimately the deadliest, Salah and Mane are a few months into their partnership while Suarez and Sturridge have done the business across a whole season.
So, we’re asking Liverpool fans in years to come who do you think will be considered the deadliest?
