Ahead of their Champions League qualifiers, the Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping some big name summer signings can come in and improve the squad.
Following the Virgil van Dijk saga, the resident Reds propping up our bar are eager to see the Kop giants make moves in the market to take their collective minds off the Dutchman’s botched move to Anfield.
So, while reports from the Daily Telegraph actually centre around a player potentially leaving Merseyside this summer, it’s at least a distraction from a certain Dutch defender.
According to their report, Sky Bet Championship side Derby County have made a £1m bid for defender Andre Wisdom. While that offer has reportedly been snubbed by the Premier League giants, a further bid for the Rams is said to be expected.
They are thought to be willing to allow the 24-year-old to depart, but for closer to £2m, after a spate of loan spells away. The academy graduate has spent time with the Rams before, as well as Norwich City and Red Bull Salzburg.
For their part, Derby are said to be confident a sealing a deal for the player and it’s fair to say that not many of our local Kopites are overly concerned about his seemingly imminent exit.
