Liverpool fans here in the Tavern are hoping to enjoy an injury free life on Merseyside, as even their most injury-prone players seem to be enjoying time back in the side.
The Reds haven’t been blessed with the most enjoyable of times on the injury front in recent years, as an injury curse continues to linger within their ranks at Anfield. However, times seem to have changed as one of Liverpool’s most affected players seems to have made a full return to proceedings, with Danny Ings now back and receiving regular game-time in the Under-23 side. And, perhaps there’s even a place in the first-team for the Englishman, as according to reports in the Liverpool Echo, the former Burnley striker has been really impressing manager Jurgen Klopp in training.
For a player that looked destined to be sent out on loan in the January transfer window with a whole host of Premier League clubs in for the striker, Jurgen Klopp ruled out a departure on deadline day as he looks to keep him at Anfield. Indeed, after seeing Daniel Sturridge depart the club and Dominic Solanke still yet to prove himself for the Reds, Ings didn’t accept defeat in seeking a loan move away from the club, as instead he sets his aims firmly on earning a place within the side.
Indeed, during the treacherous days of Danny Ings’ injury crisis while recovering from his devastating knee problem, Klopp and the Liverpool staff were astounded by the drive and determination of the player to get back and succeed in a position where many would of given up. The bravery of the 25-year-old might not be too long away from being rewarded, as a place in the first-team is looking increasingly likely.
Danny Ings came to Liverpool as one of the hottest topics in English football at the time, with many predicting that his sheer pace and goalscoring abilities would become an unstoppable force at Anfield. However, after undergoing one of the most stressful and unforgiving times that any football player could ever experience, his long road to recovery should soon reap the rewards of a place in the Liverpool side.
