Much has been made of Jordan Henderson’s form amongst the Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern of late.
Despite his initials struggles on Merseyside upon his big money move from Sunderland in 2011, the 26-year-old has emerged as a midfield lynchpin.
Replacing Steven Gerrard as the Reds’ skipper, his career reached another proud moment last night as he was handed the armband for the Three Lions.
However, like Gerrard, he almost made a dreadful error deep in midfield.
Attempting a no-look pass, Henderson carelessly gave possession away to Slovenia, who were through on goal.
Were if not for Joe Hart (and who’d have thought we’d be saying that after the summer?), the stand-in skipper would have gifted a goal away.
Noted for his honest industry and work-rate, it seems he should really stick to that, rather than attempt the fancy flicks and tricks.
Jordan Henderson, you’re no Mesut Ozil after all…
