Liverpool fans here in the Tavern are delighted after the weekend’s 4-1 win over West Ham United, as the Reds extended their unbeaten streak to five games in all competitions.
Jurgen Klopp has enjoyed his best season since taking over at Anfield back in 2015, as the Reds look on course for a European repeat of the 2005 heroics in Istanbul. And, their Premier League campaign has hardly been one to critcise, with a Champions League place now firmly in the hands of the Merseyside club.
But, one player that’s developed into a villain at Anfield so far this season is captain Jordan Henderson, as our local residents continue to hurl abuse at the Englishman’s woeful performances. And, it’s been Klopp’s decision to gift the 27-year-old a constant place in the side that’s really seen tempers boil over in the Kop, with many feeling like the German is taking the cowards way out by keeping faith in his captain.
However, much to the surprise of our local Liverpudlians, the midfielder was left out of the weekend’s encounter with West Ham United. But, it now appears that the issue lies within Henderson’s match fitness, as Liverpool’s Twitter account took to notifying fans of the justification behind the decision.

Following the club’s post, fans were quick to disregard the Englishman as the captain of their beloved Reds, as Saturday’s result just goes to show what they can achieve without the midfielder in their side.
Nevertheless, here’s a look at exactly the sort of reaction being given off by supporters on social media…
