‘I personally want Barcelona’ – Liverpool fans defiantly discuss Champions League fate

Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are high on confidence after last night’s dead-rubber game against Porto at Anfield ensure them progression to the next round of the Champions League. A 5-0 win away at the Estadio do Dragao was more than enough to blow away a Porto side that was never fancied heading into the knockout stages.

Our resident Kopites have now been defiantly discussing their ideal opponent for this season’s Champions League quarter-finals. The competition in the Champions League is stronger than in any other competition in the world and whoever Liverpool draw, they’ll need to be at the top of their game to reach the last four. However, with the devastating form of their three-pronged forward line, it’s a fair assessment to say they can dispose of any defence in the world on their day.

Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah all found the net when the Anfield club annihilated Porto and the game should go as a warning to whoever Liverpool get drawn against that the Merseysiders are no pushovers as they target a first European trophy since that famous night in Istanbul back in 2005.
