According to OkDiario, Barcelona are looking to sign a new striker in the near future with their current forward, Luis Suarez, getting ever closer to his final days in Spain. Indeed, if reports are correct, the Catalan side have set their sights on current Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino.
The Brazilian, who is an essential part of Jurgen Klopp’s offensive system, contributed 27 goals and 15 assists in 54 games last year, and has made a name for himself as one of the most formidable ‘complete forwards’ in the English game. A title, unsurprisingly, also earned by the man he is cited to replace.
So, with all this in mind, we take a look at which other players may leave Anfield to pursue careers at other clubs…
There’s no doubt that James Milner has adapted his game extremely well over the years, having started out as a winger, played stints in the fullback positions, and finally settling in the centre-midfield spot.
By all means, he encapsulates Liverpool’s style of play, which has become synonymous for being industrious, creative, and versatile.
However, at 32-years-of-age, and facing the prospect of increased competition with a number of first-team midfielders – who have either returned or are due to return from injury – Milner may opt to leave the club, come 2019.
It goes without saying that Moreno hasn’t had the best of times in a Liverpool shirt following his move from Sevilla in 2014. The Spaniard spends the majority of his time on the bench, and has been consistently criticised by fans and pundits alike for his less than adequate performances, on the very rare occasion he makes it into the starting lineup.
Fortunately for Moreno, he looks to be bringing his miserable time at the club to an end, with his contract running out in 2019.Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
