It’s quite clear that these 2 Liverpool players need to leave in January after slow season start

Liverpool have been one of the strongest sides in the Premier League the last couple of years. Having posed one of the few legitimate challenges to the league front-runners, Manchester City, last season, they’ll be looking to do the same this time around, led by their manager, Jurgen Klopp.

There is no doubt that the German gets the best out of some fairly average players, using his charm, charisma, passion and unrelenting motivation. However, if this master of man management fails on some fronts.

With a number of individuals in the squad failing to justify their place on the pitch, or even bench, here are a couple of examples of those members who need leave Anfield behind in January…

Dominic Solanke

Solanke’s career has never really taken off since joining Liverpool, in 2017, from fellow title hopefuls Chelsea. After amassing an eye-watering 1 goal in 27 games, it’s increasingly evident that he isn’t on the same level as his attacking counterparts. Admittedly, the Englishman is a young talent with age on his side, but he just doesn’t look up to scratch the current Liverpool squad.

Recent reports from the Newcastle Chronicle suggest that Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez is looking to bolster his own attack this coming transfer window and could offer Solanke a way out, if he so wishes.

Since Daniel Sturridge has managed to work his way back into the first team, there’s even less time on the pitch for Solanke, so it’s probably wise the 21-year-old packs his bags and moves up north.

Adam Lallana

Lallana is a player who’s been troubled by injuries in recent times. There’s no doubting his quality, and fans have been reminded of his abilities in the few games he’s managed back; however, with the arrival of two new midfielders, Fabinho and Keita, and the impending return of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, we suspect that he may be surplus to requirements.

Whether or not the move is permanent remains to be seen…
