Jordan Henderson reacts to Liverpool’s deadline day deal

The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are starting to think that the international break couldn’t have come at a worse time.

Indeed, having just beaten Arsenal 4-0 and having signed Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, our resident Reds are oh so annoyed they couldn’t follow up on that momentum earlier.

They’re particularly looking forward to seeing how ‘The Ox’ develops under Jurgen Klopp. While the England international has endured a fairly inconsistent time of things in north London over the years, he’s clearly a talent and looks to be the perfect type of dynamic player to play under the German coach.

In fact, the 24-year-old doesn’t just have to seal of approval from our punters. Speaking to Liverpool’s official website, Anfield skipper Jordan Henderson has given his say on the matter.

Having played with Chamberlain for England over the past few years, the Reds captain knows his new club colleague well and believes he’ll improve under Klopp on Merseyside.

“[Klopp] is a fantastic manager and I think he will help Alex a lot”, Henderson told the official site.

”He will help him develop as a player and hopefully you will see even more good things from him.”

“He’s a fantastic player; he can adapt to each position [and] gives you something different on the wing. He’s very direct and powerful and in the midfield he’s clever enough to get on the ball and get on the half-turn so, for me, he can play in either position.

“Of course I’m delighted he’s signed for Liverpool.”

Landlord’s Verdict:

Klopp could be the best manager for Chamberlain. He’ll thrive under his tutelage and be able to make the most out of his physicality, something he wasn’t able to do at Arsenal.

Henderson’s right, though could end up losing his place in central midfield.
