While the Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping Jurgen Klopp adds to his squad imminently, it seems much of the talk amongst them right actually centres around players potentially leaving the club.
Indeed, the notion of seeing Philippe Coutinho depart Anfield for Barcelona has seriously concerned our resident Reds. Having seen Luis Suarez leave for the Camp Nou in recent years, losing their brilliant Brazilian too has the local Kopites here in the Tavern really quite worried.
Well, even more so now. According to Tancredi Palmeri, the Blaugrana have made a €70m offer for the 25-year-old, one that roughly equates to £62.4m. Now, the Reds have previously been reported to have snubbed a £72m offer, so it’s not clear as to exactly what’s going on.
Here we go: Barcelona have bid 70 millions of € for Coutinho

Still, Palmeri has taken to Twitter to reveal the La Liga giants have offered that fee for the former Inter Milan youngster and the Liverpool supporters in today do not believe it’s enough. If that really is their offer, our punters propping up the bar find it really quite laughable.
One of the best players in the Premier League, they hope no such reported offer is accepted by the club.
Considering the current landscape of the transfer market, that sort of money for Coutinho seems kind of cheap. A wonderfully gifted attacking player – one with his peak years ahead of him – surely Liverpool can command almost a world record fee.
He only recently penned a new deal, so whatever happens, Liverpool are in a very strong position. Hopefully, that has our punters feeling a bit better about the links.
