It says a lot about the nature of Jurgen Klopp’s huge rebuild at Liverpool that the Reds in the Tavern are not at all bothered about a certain Daniel Sturridge.
During his injury problems while the club were managed by Brendan Rodgers, the England international was touted as the man to help the club get over Luis Suarez after proving prolific in red.
Still, since Klopp arrived, the 27-year-old has largely cut a forlorn figure on the sidelines as more dynamic and reliable options emerge in front of him.
Which is why reports from the Mirror have been met with many a shrugged shoulder from our Merseyside locals.
With Danny Ings and Philippe Coutinho injured, Sadio Mane will have to depart for the African Cup of Nations, meaning Sturridge’s exit would leave them far too light up front.
