While much of the talk amongst the Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern has centred around Jurgen Klopp’s quest to land every attacking midfielder known to man, there’s little doubt the German has been equally as active in axing players from his squad.
After the Brendan Rodgers era at Anfield got incredibly stale incredibly quickly, that has come as music to the ears of the Reds in this evening.
While Joe Allen’s departure from The Kop may have been a difficult one to process, it has helped the club make a mammoth amount of money from relatively harmless sales this term.
As reported by the Daily Mail, the club are on course to welcome a record £100m through player sales this term, having already sold the likes of £15m Jordon Ibe and £6m Brad Smith to Bournemouth.
Departure such as the aforementioned £13m Welshman, Martin Skrtel, Sergi Canos and Jerome Sinclair have taken that amount to around £50m.
