It’s not been a great few weeks for the Liverpool fans propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern, who watched their side lose an awful lot of ground in the title race, as well as get knocked out of both cup competitions.
With any chance of seeing the Reds land some silverware this term looking increasingly looking increasingly slim, the Merseyside locals propping up the bar have been talking about the complexion of their squad under Jurgen Klopp.
Clearly, there are obvious deficiencies in the ranks at Anfield, so quotes sourced from the Liverpool Echo have sparked debate amongst our punters. The German coach has dropped a hint in regards to the future of Lazar Markovic, currently on loan with Hull City.
The Serbian hasn’t wholly convinced since he joined the Kop titans back in the summer of 2014, being loaned out to the likes of Sporting Lisbon and the Tigers, though has appeared to be quite promising for the relegation battlers. So much so in fact, that Klopp has suggested he could be around for the long-term.
“He still has a contract”, said Klopp.
‘Why should I say now: ‘no chance for Lazar Markovic’.
“If he plays very well at Hull….if he plays very good against us then there’s no future for him at Liverpool!”
It’s not exactly the rip-roaring news the Reds in the bar wanted to here, such is the nature of his standing at the club.
Does Markovic have a future? Let us know below…
