Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern will be looking ahead to their Champions League semi-final first leg clash with AS Roma on Tuesday and will be expecting their side to produce a better performance.
The Reds were held to a 2-2 draw on Saturday with West Bromwich Albion and Jurgen Klopp is expected to make a number of changes, with Joe Gomez one of those set to miss out, according to a report in the Daily Express.
The 20-year-old featured at right-back during their stalemate with the Baggies, however, it is believed he was used instead of Trent Alexander-Arnold to rest him for the European tie.
The former Charlton Athletic defender, who can also be used as a centre-back or left-back, has had a troubled time since arriving at Anfield, having suffered a number of injuries since arriving from The Valley.
The England man is not the only player expected to be left out of the first-team for the clash with Roma that played in the game with West Brom with the likes of Ragnar Klavan, Alberto Moreno, Georginio Wijnaldum and Danny Ings thought to drop out.
The Liverpool fans in the Tavern will be looking for a positive result against the Italians and will trust Klopp to make the correct changes for the game. The punters will be feeling confident of their chances after defeating Manchester City in the last tie, although they will be aware the Serie A side have beaten Barcelona and Chelsea in this year’s competition.
