Life amongst the Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern has been pretty good of late after their win against Burnley in dramatic fashion, though it certainly wasn’t all great for our resident Reds. Indeed, one man in particular failed to convince at Turf Moor.
Summer signing Dominic Solanke frustrated many of our local Liverpudlians with his performance in leading the line against the Clarets, leading to many of our drinkers asking a fairly difficult question. Following his difficult afternoon in Lancashire, those propping up our bar have been wondering whether it was a wise decision to loan out Divock Origi in order to make room for the England U20 hero.
Origi, by no means perfect, though was at least a palpable goal threat and his form on loan at Wolfsburg certainly beats Solanke’s on Merseyside and he’d be a more reliable back-up for Liverpool’s otherwise devastating front line. Rated at £12m on Transfermarkt, the Belgian international could have complemented the ‘Fab Four’ as the Reds battle on a number of fronts.
So, with that in mind, we’re asking our Liverpool-mad punters, was giving up Origi for Solanke a good idea?
