The current pandemic across the globe has affected football just like every other facet of normal life.
All professional games across the country have been suspended until further notice, whilst a number of non-league divisions have already taken the decision to cancel the season. Last week, the Belgian top tier indicated that it would also end the campaign now rather than wait to finish the rest of the schedule.
The lack of matchday revenue could be crippling for some clubs, but you would not expect Liverpool to be a part of that group. As the current European champions and one of the richest clubs on the planet, they are likely to be able to survive a period without matches.
That still didn’t stop their owners choosing to take advantage of the government’s scheme, which saw them put a number of their staff on furlough using taxpayer’s money to fund 80% of their wages – a decision that did not go down well with the supporters.
Jurgen Klopp, though, may well be set to restore part of their battered reputation. As per The Daily Mail, himself and David Moyes are two Premier League managers who have indicated they will take a pay-cut during these difficult times.
This has got the Reds fans talking, with one suggesting that Klopp is showing a ‘much better example‘ than the owners of the club. Here is what some had to say…
Love him so much man

Klopp must be fuming with the @LFC board. Fingers crossed and this doesn’t lead to him leaving.
